The United Kingdom Reserve Forces Association is a tri-service organisation, with membership open to individuals of any rank who have, or who have had, a reserve commitment or have served with the UK Armed Forces. It is part funded by charitable donation, membership subscriptions and Service grants.
Membership is open to both individuals and units of the British Reserve Forces, the Cadet Forces and to Civil Defence Organisations. The UKRFA is recognised by the Ministry of Defence and is part of the International Confederation of Reserve Associations.

The Secretariat acts as a point of contact with its NATO counterparts, coordinating exchange training, competitions, NATO course applications, and events run with other international organisations with similar interests.
